-
Hathersage parish church is dedicated to St Michael. The parish itself covered a large area, covering the townships of Outseats and Bamford, and the chapelries of Derwent and Stoney Middleton. Bamford became a separate parish in 1860, as did Derwent in 1871 and Stoney Middleton in the early 20th century. Parts of the parish were assigned to the parish district of Grindleford, including the area of Nether Padley, in 1951 and 1962.
