Originally a chapelry for the northern part of Trotton, and known as Tuxlith, Milland was formed into an ecclesiastical parish in 1863. In 1877 the hamlets of Rake and Langley, formerly in Rogate parish, were added. In many instances, therefore, it may be necessary to consult the Trotton or Rogate records
