Description

Includes weighing machine for weighing waggons pressed to carry troops to be placed in front of Shire Hall, Chelmsford (Q/SBb 398/71); copy of 'Chelmsford Chronicle' 4 January 1805 (Q/SBb 398/49); assault on woman keeper of workhouse by pauper, High Ongar (Q/SBb 398/2); theft of household articles including mahogany tea chest and kneading trough, attempt to pawn 'piece of needlework framed and glazed,' Chelmsford (Q/SBb 398/18); labourer threatened to attack Hatfield mill and miller, and told a Volunteer who wished to resign to keep his 'brown Bess' or firelock (Q/SBb 398/14)
