Memo from Stress Office: In view of increased abutment between the 1st stage dummy blade weight root fixing and the redesigned spacer ring of the 1st and 2nd stage LP compressor coned assembly, it is thought that the nine rejected dummy weights mentioned in your report of the 7th January 1954 ref ED/INS/KJ/IM/98. The dummy blade weights in question, should have their retaining tangs on the forward face made true to drawing, and would Mr Newport please make arrangements for this work to be carried out. The full 1st stage set of weights will be modified to our instructions detailed in our note to Mr Edmunds dated 12 January 1954 Ref CE/SWM/KC/3889
