Transferred by the County Archivist of Surrey, Dr. D. B. Robinson, Guildford Muniment Room, Castle Arch, Guildford GUI 35X. The documents were sent to Guildford by the owner, Mr. R. H. Bennett, Received 19 January 1978. Accession no. 2359.

Administrative / biographical background

According to Mr. R. H. Bennett, Jn. Hen. Cook was Paymaster R.N. and was born in 1790 and died in 1876. 'Mr. Bennett believes him to be his great grandfather, also that he was the grandson of the famous Captain Jas. Cook (1728-1779)
