Administrative / biographical background

An ancient parish church, originally serving the townships of Bostock, Davenham, Eaton [nr. Davenham], Leftwich, Moulton, Newhall [nr. Davenham], Shipbrook, Shurlach, Stanthorne, Wharton, Whatcroft, and part of Rudheath. For later records, see also the parishes of Byley cum Lees, Dane Bridge, Moulton, Rudheath, Wharton and Witton.

The Church of the Farm of the Good Shepherd, Leftwich, opened in 1952 as a chapel of ease to Davenham, and closed in 2004.
