Description (What the record is about)
-
Draft copy note of William White, Grand Secretary, Freemasons' Hall to Admiral Sir Peter Parker, Deputy Grand Master, Portsmouth sending copies of the last Grand Lodge Proceedings with a report about the Grand Feast. White informs Parker that he provided the Country Stewards' Lodge with a copy of the Deputy Grand Master's letter but the Grand Secretary is aware that several members met and dined privately but were informed that it could not be referred to as the Country Feast or Deputy Grand Master's Feast. Informs Parker that he has received a list of nine proposed Country Feast Stewards but warned the Country Stewards' Lodge that no event could take place without the attendance of Sir Peter Parker. White now seeks confirmation from Parker about such considerations and warns Parker that these proposed Stewards may contact him. If Parker is able to attend in the future then the Country Feast may be revived without disturbing the peace of the Society but not if he is unable to attend. Sends greetings from James Heseltine.
