525. George Cheetham & Sons, Stalybridge (KL). Sep. 1833, May 1834, Nov. 1839, May, Jun., Sep. 1841, Aug. 1842. 13 items.
36 horse power double-acting crank engine, with 30½ inch cylinder, 6 foot stroke, parallel motion, [cast iron beam, cast iron connecting rod].
Also boat boiler for land, 1833-1834.

Reverse plan and sections of the engine house, plan of the tunnel; entablature and spring beams - partially coloured reverse drawing; crank, showing connection to crank and shaft of old engine; plan of cylinder and section of casing; plan of the engine houses marked "Sketch on the introduction of a 2nd 36 horse engine", with "Memorandums relative to Messrs. George Cheetham & Sons' new 36 horse engine" by William Bennett, 8 May 1841; extract from letter from William Bennett dated 11 Aug. 1842, about the starting of the engines. The reverse drawings bear letter codes.
Also the following drawings for boat boilers for land: plan and sections of the boiler - original and reverse drawings, 6 Sep. 1833; plan and elevation for a second boiler, 26 May 1834; coupling for water pipes - coloured original drawing, 1 Nov. 1839.
