General correspondence regarding Port Sunlight Village matters (Hulme Art Gallery, building of cottages) , proposals for the takeover of Fels Naptha Soap, Thomas Hedley & Co, Newcastle-on-Tyne, Joseph Watson & Sons, Linseed oil Company (Boston), Pacific Phosphate, and Colegate. Also looks at Imperial and Foreign Department matters, trademark applications, appointment of Hulme Lever as vice-chairman and rates of wages in Port Sunlight 1912-1916 (piece 58) The Special Committee came into exsistence in January 1921. Before this date the correspondence is between the directors collectively. Mentions advertising/marketing for "Twink " and "Lux " (piece 22)
