ILEA was divided administratively into ten divisions, each covering one or two boroughs and corresponding closely to the borough boundaries. Each contained a Divisional Office supported by an education officer and team of administrative, executive and clerical staff together with inspectors, welfare officers and other professional advisers.
The Kensington Petty Sessions Register was retained and a closure period of 30 years was imposed according to the conditions of the Public Records Act, 1967.
