Description

Lord Powis to the Rev. R.J. Davies.

"I have received with feelings of great regret your letter announcing to me your Brothers decease - I had not contemplated any other result from the Letters I had from Montgomeryshire - I cannot however say I am the more reconciled to the Loss of my old & sincere Friend. I shall miss him much & sincerely regret his removal from this world ....."

He is glad Mrs. Davies bears up under this heavy affliction and asks Davies to give her his condolences and to add those of Lady Powis. He is obliged to be in the House of Lords tomorrow night or should have felt it his duty to have attended the laste Duties to his late friend.

(Note: this letter is copied out in note-book No. 631/3/191, and the original was discovered in that book.)
