This Committee began in 1933 as the COUNTY WATER COMMITTEE but there is no description of its functions.
In the 1946/7 Yearbook, as the RURAL WATER SUPPLIES AND SEWERAGE SCHEMES COMMITTEE the functions is given as:
to advise the Council as to schemes for the provision of water in rural areas of the County pursuant to the Rural Water Supplies and Sewerage Act, 1944, and all matters incidental thereto and (except in connection with hospital accommodation) under Section 307 of the Public Health Act, 1936.
From 1947 these functions were taken over by the new PLANNING COMMITTEE
