The collection was deposited on 26th March, 1954, by Captain Ralph Aldersey, and it is calendared in "The Family of Aldersey", C.G.O. Bridgeman (1899), pp.59-448. A number of documents in the main sequence, 1-536, were not included among the collection as deposited, and the missing numbers are given in the summary below. Nor were the following bundles, calendared by Bridgeman, deposited
Bundle A. 1-154. Miscellaneous papers relating to the Aldersey Family. 1500-1838
Bundle B. 1-89. Papers relating to Bunbury Church. 1561-c.1820
Bundle E. 1-105. Aldersey Letters. 1626-1808
A further group of documents which do not appear in the calendar, but which were among those deposited, have been added as nos. DAL/537-542, and Bundle F
Some Aldersey MSS are deposited in the library of the Chester Archaeological Society; but doubtless the Chester branch of the family
