FYFFET. (Co. Somerset.)
Grant by John Newton, Gent. one of the sons of Thomas Newton of Swell, Co. Somers. Esq, to John Walshe of London, Esq. (son and heir of John Walshe of Catthanger, Co. Somers. Esq.) and Joan his wife, and the heirs of John, of a close now in tenure of Thomas Crocume in Parish of Fyffhed, Co. Somers. near a wood late of John Speke on the West and the Manor of Swell on the East, and 4 acres of arable in Blakland in said Parish of Fyffhed, and 4 acres in Barlyfurlonge in same Parish, and 2 acres in Kynnyll tote in same Parish and 2 acres in Langford Rydd (RyW ?) in same Parish, all in tenure of John Dolman, and also 2 parcels called Furthyn and Brodedole in a great meadow called Illmore in said Parish, and a close called Catthanger Orchard near the farm of Langforde, and 37 acres of land in the South and North fields of Langforde in Parish of Fyffhed in occupation of John Salway and in tenure of Nicholas Salysbury and Joan his wife; all of which premises said Thomas Newton, father of Grantor, purchased of said John Walshe, the father, and granted to said John Newton, the Grantor, his son.
