Genre: Architectural Photography. Print from ½ plate negative. Seated image of Buddha, lacking head. Cousens had in 1900 taken an extensive series of 225 photographs at Sanchi, and this additional visit was made to advise on necessary repairs. The 11 photographs taken on this visit were 'taken chiefly with reference to questions that had cropped up since then' (Progress Report of the Archaeological Survey of Western India, for the year ending 30th June 1902, p. 6).
