Covenant, Grant and Assignment: between Samuel Barker of Linden, co. Rutland, esq., and Daniel Simper of the same, husbandman: whereas said Samuel Barker leased a messuage and lands to said Daniel Simper, and a sum of £288:18s:11d., being arrears of rent, is still due, and Samuel Barker has taken distress of several of the goods and chattels of Daniel Simper, since when the latter has put into the grounds further stock and cattle which are liable to distress, and it would be detrimental to said Daniel if a sale were made of his household and other goods and live stock, it is agreed that all the household goods of said Daniel which have been distrained shall be redelivered to him discharged from the distress, and that the several premises, other than the messuage, shall be surrendered to Samuel Barker, and that Daniel shall assign to Samuel all the goods and live stock distrained by Samuel, but Daniel having first refusal of such goods and live stock in event of their sale by Samuel: in consideration of such agreements said Daniel surrenders the said premises to Samuel, and assigns to him the goods, chattels, stock and cattle, mentioned in a schedule attached.
