Reel tape recordings

Reel tape recordings of interviews, music performances, and copies of radio shows and commercial material recorded or collected by Paul Oliver. Many of these tapes were sent to him by other collectors and collaborators, notably Mack McCormick.

Note that all of these tapes have been digitised and are available to researchers in MP3 format.

The tapes have been grouped in sub-series which broadly follow Oliver's own original order (see catalogue records for each sub-series for more details). Tapes which were not part of any obvious thematic series have mostly been grouped under 'Blues miscellanies' and 'Single artist recordings'.

All users external to the University are required to register before using the collections. Collections must be viewed in the Special Collections Reading Room and users must abide by the Reading Room regulations.
