The lodge was established in 1801 to meet at the Castle and Banner, Hunny Hill, Carisbrook in Newport. In 1805 the lodge was named the Vectis Ancient Lodge, but in 1816 this name was changed to Albany, the name the lodge is now known by. The lodge now meets at the Masonic Hall in Newport.
