Dorman Long & Co. Ltd. - Report on a Visit to America

Report from a tour of the U.S.A undertaken by Arthur Dorman, Walter.L. Johnson and E.D. Morgan as representatives of Dorman Long. The tour lasted from the 7 June 1926 until 30 June 1926 with the aim being to observe the design of the iron and steel works. The volume consists of 15 individual files, one from each of the locations visited, a further file contains drawings of sections of blast furnaces at the various plants and also the furnaces of the 'Dorman-Long' combine, and a 17th and final file containing general notes and a map of the route taken by the party.
Each of the 15 'site' files contains textual information on the nature and scope of plant and machinery present, along with plans and sketches, and statistical details of materials used in the iron and steel making processes. The party also visited the Niagara Falls Power Station, at that time the largest in the world, and a file containing a report from this visit is also present.
