541b. The Honourable the Commissioners of the Navy, Portsmouth (BE). Aug., Nov. 1856. 3 items.
80 horse power double-acting independent crank engine, with 44 inch cylinder, 7 foot stroke, parallel motion, cast iron beam, cast iron connecting rod.

Parallel motion for hot and cold water pumps - coloured original drawing; beam, gudgeons and plummer block - coloured original and reverse drawings. All the drawings bear letter codes.

Catalogue of Old Engines p. 152.

For the Honourable the Commissioners of the Navy. Rolling mill engine, Portsmouth Dockyard. This engine was designed to be similar to the first 80 horse engine above. It was ordered in Jul. 1855.
