John Dicken writes to the Hon. Richard Hill under cover to Sam. Hill, M.P. at Richmont.

He gives details of agreements reached with tenants at Yorton & Weston Lullingfield with Jno Eaton for the tenement at Yorton. He wants a lease for 21 years or for his wife's life as he intends to lay out charges in improvements.

Richard Griffiths in his own tenement in Weston Lullingfield - to which Dicken has made several small additions of land laid to it, at a rent of £68 p.a. an advance of £5 - wants a lease for the life of his wife and himself "they both pretty ancient" ... "under the same convenants as in his own old lease except rent, heirs and heriots the additional rent being to excuse these".

He proposed all the other land to Tho. Shore who desired a week's consideration.

If he refuse, Dicken has a better tenant "for I doubt Shore is full weak to hold so large a farme but he saies his Father will come and live with him and bring a sufficient stock of cattle to manage it & if he doe he may doe well".

He has a right to a preference.

Dickin had agreed with Adam Downes for a term of 21 years, but believes he will be contented with one for his own & his wife's life, "they being old".

Mr. Chettoe refuses the moneys offered for his lands in Yorton.
