Strettons Derby Brewery Ltd was incorporated on 3 Dec 1890. It was originally based at the Ashbourne Road brewery, but later moved to the Wardwick Brewery, and owned or occupied several licensed and unlicensed premises throughout the Midlands. It was later taken over by Ind Coope Ltd of Burton-upon-Trent, who changed the name of the company to Ind Coope (Strettons) Ltd on 1 Jan 1959. It subsequently underwent other changes of name, Inde Coope (East Midlands) Ltd on 1 Sep 1959, and Ind Coope (EM) Ltd in Oct 1981. Ind Coope was itself later taken over by Allied Breweries. The records later came into the possession of the Punch Group, which bought out parts of Allied Breweries during the 1990s.
