A Bible in Latin, written in France. ff. i-ii. Parchment fly-leaves added in the modern binding. f. iii. A medieval parchment fly-leaf. On the verso is a pen-and-ink drawing of St. Jerome writing, accompanied by his lion. N.R. Ker attributed this to the late 15th century. ff. 1r-586v. Bible, with usual contents in the usual order, as in Lambeth Palace Library MS. 1364. 3 Ezra is so called in the heading and running title, not, as usual, 2 Ezra. The prologues are the common set of 64, as in Lambeth Palace MS. 1364. Proverbs begins a new quire, f. 288. Listed as no. 113 in the Burlington Fine Arts Club's Catalogue of Illuminated Manuscripts, 1908. ff. 587r-629v. The usual dictionary of Hebrew names. 'Aaz apprehendens' ... 'consiliatores eorum'. ff. 631-632. Parchment fly-leaves added in the modern binding.

- Inscription on front pastedown: 'E dono Viri Reverendi E. F. Russell e Clero Eccles. S. Albani Holborn 1888', ie. given to Sion College in 1888 by Edward Francis Russell (1844-1925), curate of St. Alban the Martyr, Holborn, London. Transferred from Sion College to Lambeth Palace Library, 1996.

Physical condition (Aspects of the physical condition of the record that may affect or limit its use)
- Binding of black leather, tooled in gold, by Riviere and Son, 155 x 115 mm., 19th century. Very thin parchment leaves. Foliated i-iii, 1-349, 349*, 350-632. f. iii is a medieval parchment fly-leaf (see Description field). 150 x 100 mm. Written space 108 x 73 mm. 2 cols. 44 lines. Collation: 1-9(24); 10 twenty-three; 11-24(24); 25(12) (ff. 575-86) 26(24) 27(20). Initials: (i) to books and the main divisions of the Psalms, and on f. 1, in colour on blue and pink grounds, historiated (including, at f. 4v, a fine initial to Genesis, with the days of creation and the crucifixion); (ii) to prologues, as (i), but smaller and decorated, instead of historiated; (iii) 2-line, red or blue with ornament of the other colour and streamers of both colours extending the height of the page; (iv) to verses of Psalms and in art. 2, 1-line, red or blue. Initials of types (i) and (ii) are picked out with a little gold. Capital letters in the ink of the text filled with red. Secundo folio 'quam stultitia'.
