This list includes only those records which relate solely to the former parish of Lower Gravenhurst, and further material relating to the parish will be found among the records of Upper Gravenhurst as the two livings were generally held in plurality from the Seventeenth century.

Administrative / biographical background

The church of St.Mary, Lower Gravenhurst, was closed for worship in 1970, and later made redundant by order in Council dated 14 August 1972 under which the parishes of Upper and Lower Gravenhurst were united. The churchyard remained in use until 1992. The church was vested in the Redundant Churches Fund on 22 Feb. 1974, and the pastoral care of the parish is entrusted to the incumbent of the benefice of Upper with Lower Gravenhurst.
