Dear Sir,—Just a few lines to let you know that I
have been fortunate in being interned at the above
address, so you can now strike my name off the list of
men for receiving packets. I take the opportunity of
thanking you for the consistent method adopted in
forwarding my packets to Germany ; of course, on onfe or
two occasions when I was transferred from one place to
another, my packets were a little delayed, but, of course,
this did not matter much as I always looked forward to
the arrival of my packets, especially being situated in a
country which is in such a state of starvation.
It is a great relief indeed to a man, on crossing over
the border, out of such a country as the enemies’,
At present I am enjoying a life of freedom here, which
is a real treat after two years of exile.
I will now close, again thanking you for your kind atten-
tion in the past.—Sincerely yours,
(Sgd.) 37847 Pte. T. McGuigan. (MGC Mag Oct 1918);END OF RECORD.
