Hiram's Lodge was granted a warrant by the Moderns' Grand Lodge to meet in Gibraltar as No. 490 on 22 November 1786. It had met under a provincial warrant granted by Mother Lodge of St John, No. 28 [SN 86], Gibraltar in about 1773 or 1774 but lost this provincial warrant during the Great Siege of Gibraltar from 1779 to 1783. The Lodge was renumbered as No. 400 in 1792 but was erased at the time of the union between the Moderns' and Antients' Grand Lodges to form the United Grand Lodge of England in 1813.
