Folios 161-162. Draft letter from the Local Government Board to H E Ringer, Surveyor of Highways of the Highway parish of Rougham in the Mitford and Launditch Poor Law Union referring to his letter of the 19 March 1885 concerning the discrepancy reported by T Howell K Roberts, District Auditor as existing between the rate book of the highway parish of Rougham and the valuation list in force. They draw his attention to sec 4 of the Highway Rate Assessment and Expenditure Act 1882, 45 & 46 Vic c 27 and quote its contents. They ask whether the Union Assessment Committee gave him notice of the amendment of the valuation list, which was the result of the reduction of the tithes.
