Boyd Pollen Manningham was the son of Coote and Anna Maria Manningham. He was born on 18 July 1807 and baptized at Little Bookham, Surrey, on 21 July 1807. He is believed to have died "some time before" 12 Apr 1831. He was the brother of Mary Anne, wife of Edward Buller, whose daughter Teresa Charlotte Manningham Buller married Henry Chandos Pole Gell in 1869, which seems to explain why two of his travel journals made the way into the records of the Gell family.
