An O.B.E., K.P.M. group of seven awarded to Superintendent Ronald Arthur Charles Hill, Punjab Indian Police Service, late Indian Army and Machine Gun Corps
The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, O.B.E. (Civil) Officer’s 2nd type breast badge, silver-gilt; King’s Police Medal, G.V.R., 2nd issue, general issue reverse (Ronald A. C. Hill, Indian Police Service), on ‘Gallantry’ ribbon; British War and Victory Medals (Lieut.); India General Service 1908-35, 2 clasps, Waziristan 1919-21, Afghanistan N.W.F. 1919 (Lieut., 48 Pnrs.) second clasp loose; Jubilee 1935; Coronation 1937, these unnamed, mounted court style as worn, some edge bruising, very fine and better (7) £800-1000

Ronald Arthur Charles Hill was born in Wimbledon, Surrey on 11 July 1898, the son of Colonel Arthur Hill, R.E. and Vera Louisa Mary Hill, nee Clarkson. Commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the East Surrey Regiment, he entered the Mesopotamia theatre of war on 7 November 1916. He was seconded for duty with the Machine Gun Corps (London Gazette 5 March 1917) and also served on attachment to the 48th Pioneers, Indian Army. Appointed Temporary Captain from July 1919 (London Gazette 5 April 1921). As a Superintendent in the Punjab Police, he was awarded the King’s Police Medal in 1931 and as Superintendent of Police, Quette-Peshin Agency and Sibi Agency he was awarded the O.B.E. in 1937. Hill died in Surrey in 1965. With nine cloth and metal collar badges. With copy of birth certificate, m.i.c. and gazette extracts.;
