1. John Reynolds of Lidbury North clerk and Robert Hows of Lidbury North gent.

Cons: £70, and covenants and rent.

Lease of a messuage fold garden, orchard and backside in Longvill called Hides (Francis Sned, now Judith Swindale widow), leasow or close called the leasow under the Hill (3 a), little piece of pasture inclosed lying on one side of the street of Longvill over against the dwelling house (1 r) (Rowland Moyle), close meadow called Ballyes yard (1 a) (Thomas Amys), reserving timber trees etc. with liberty to cut any except fruit trees, liberty to enter to view repairs to the house, to hold from the date of these presents for 99 years or lives of James Cartright, Mary his wife, and John Pinches eldest son of John Pinches the younger of the parish of Lidbury North. Rent 5s, heriot best beast or chattle levant and couchant or £4 at election of Hows. Covenant in case rent is unpaid 21 days to take distress. Covenant to repair the house, leave quietly at end of term, for payment of scotts lotts taxations contributions, lewnes, payments and charges taxed on the premises, and to plant 100 quicksetts of hawthorn or crabtree and to protect both the quicksetts and fruit trees already planted. Covenant that the property is not encumbered and for quiet possession by both Reynolds and Hows. The tenant may crop in husband like manner any trees except fruit trees for fireing, with proviso for reentry in case of breach of covenants or non-payment of rent.
