This collection chiefly comprises personal letters between Monica Soppitt, whose family home was at Darley Dale, and her fiance, later her husband, Harry C Dance. Harry Dance served in the Royal Air Force during World War II. There were many letters exchanged between Harry and Monica while they were separated by his service duties. There is also correspondence with other family members, notably Harry's mother, Mrs. Dance.
