St Mary's, Welling is one of three parishes in the Diocese of Southwark lying within the London Borough of Bexley. It was established in 1934 as a daughter church of St Michael's, East Wickham and known as St Mary's Mission Hall. In 1947 the area was constituted an Ecclesiastical District. Work was begun on building a new church, which was consecrated in 1955.
