Patient case notes of James Cameron

The patient case notes are in envelopes with the patient's name and dates of appointments on the outside. The envelopes include correspondence with the patient and other doctors; results of tests and x-rays; cause of death, where relevant; and Cameron's notes on the case. They are arranged alphabetically but not always precisely eg Millar and Miller are mixed up and hyphenated surnames may be under the second name rather than the first. The date span is for the whole collection and there may not be cases for each year in every box. The envelopes were counted for the first six boxes and drawing an average from those figures the collection includes over 9800 envelopes. The envelopes were originally in wooden filing drawers and were reboxed into 50 boxes in 1995. These boxes were not archival so a further reboxing was done prior to cataloguing. The notes are closed until 2050. Because of patient confidentiality they have only been catalogued by box.
