The unnamed lodge was established in 1771 and was held in the Third Regiment of Foot, otherwise known as the Buffs. In 171 the regiment was based in Exeter, Devon and the lodge met at the Castle Inn, Exeter. The lodge's last entry in the Grand Lodge books is in 1792 and the lodge lapsed in c.1793.
