Nelson of the Nile Lodge received a warrant from the Moderns' Grand Lodge on 27 May 1801 to meet as No. 436 [SN 1386]. It was known as Nautical Lodge and met at the Black Bull Inn, Commercial Road, Batley, Yorkshire until just after the union between the Moderns' Grand Lodge and the Antients' Grand Lodge to form the United Grand Lodge of England. The Lodge number was changed to No. 500 after the union and renumbered in 1832 to meet as No. 330. In 1863 the Lodge was renumbered as No. 264, its present number on the roll of Lodges. The Lodge met at various inns and taverns before relocating to its present meeting place Blenheim House, 66 Batley Field Hill, Batley in 2003.
