Farewell the enjoyment of part of the estate; lease for life of a burgage "without the hanging chapel" Langport (Walton to Palmer), 1572; licence for Jn. Stawell and Francisca, his wife to alienate mess. and land in W. Monkton and Cheddon Fitzpaine and free fishing in R. Tone to Geo. Farewell, 1573 [see Cal. Patent Rolls, Eliz. I, vol 5, no. 280]; lease for 99 years or 3 lives, burgage and 4 a., Langport (Farewell to Balls) 1574; deed of the Manor of Stathe, Stoke St. Gregory, Jn. Butler of Lillesdowne to Geo. Farewell of Bishops Hull, 1576; deed of plot adj. house of Geo. Farewell in Bishops Hull endorsed "a grant for my conyger", 1591; deed of burgage in Langport Sir Geo. Farewell to Thos. Tresur of Huish E., 1630; lease for 99 years or 2 lives of the cap. mess. called Barwick in Barwick St. Leonard [co. Wilts] formerly used as a parsonage house. (Farewell to Jesse) 1612.
