'Library trade correspondence and papers'.
Correspondence and papers; contains thirty-nine letters, one leaflet, two business cards, eleven postcards, one compliment slip and one handwritten list of 'Journals Wanted' by Simpson. The correspondence is to and from N D Simpson and various antiquarian or rare book sellers and publishers based mostly in London, South-East, Sutton Coldfield, Scotland and the Netherlands, for example, The Times Bookshop, Horace G Commin Ltd, Ifan Kyrle Fletcher, Francis Edwards Ltd, Bernard Quaritch Ltd, T Buncle & Co Ltd and Antiquariaat Junk regarding Simpson's dealings in searching for rare books for his library and the book seller's replies which contain information such as availability, cost or details regarding the sale and general enquiries regarding finding books or journals. There is also one letter from J Whitaker & Sons Ltd, 13 Bedford Square, London WC1, to N D Simpson regarding including any books published by him in 'British Books in Print', 1971 which is published annually.
