The following papers were deposited on 12 May 1993, by P.E. Banks, Hon. Sec. of the Withington Branch of the United Nations Association. A further depositions made on 15 July 1997 (Accession 1997/35).

Originally Withington Branch of the League of Nations Union.
Many prominent Manchester citizens were involved with the Withington Branch, notably Sir Leonard Behrens, who was a member from the outset, then Chairman and later President, in which capacity he continued until his death. The Branch was addressed by several well known national figures, including Sir Norman Angell and Professor Gilbert Murray.
