a) Street Works (sheets 1-31): land to be acquired for frontage line improvements, including Western Road (esp. north side westwards from Queen Square), Air Street (block to North Street Quadrant), St James's Street, Marine Parade/Kings Clff; new road from Boundary Road (Marine Parade) eastwards along the cliff top to join the existing Brighton-Newhaven road at Roedean Gap, then continuing as an improvement/replacement of the Brighton-Newhaven road as far as the Brighton/Telscombe parish boundary (involves demolition of part of Riflebutt Road houses, removal of the road in places away from the cliff top, and a new line in Rottingdean village. Associated with the above is the acquisition of stretches of seafront land between the cliff foot and high water mark in the Rottingdean/Telscombe Cliffs area, including in the parish of Telscombe (Newhaven Rural District) adjoining the Portobello Sewage Outfall Works.
b) Water Works (sheets 31-32): proposed underground adit from Stanmer Park, parish of Falmer, to existing Falmer Pumping Station (Brighton), with new winding shaft.
Book of reference giving landowners and occupiers, and notice of application.
