Description

Collection of loose prints, including two cartes-de-visites and a cabinet card, probably compiled by Charles Burslam Saunder. Prints 1-6 Group portraits. Saunders (b. 1821) was Resident at Hyderabad (Deccan) from 1868-75, and Commissioner for Mysore and Coorg until 1878. The portraits date from this period and include a tiger hunting group, a party having tea on the lawn, groups probably at Bolarum and a group at Bangalore with the Viceroy, Lord Lytton. Print 7 Cabinet portrait of Saunders. Prints 8-9 Cartes-de-visites portraits of Mrs Saunders. Process = Albumen prints. Photographers = Ritter & Molkenteller, Robert Faulkner (London);.
