Gallantry Notes: Citation for MC (LG 4/10/1919): for conspicuous gallantry and initiative on 24 October 1918 near Vendegies Wood, he rushed up his section into the line of foremost infantry and so brought his guns into action against enemy machine guns which were firing at point blank range and holding up the advance of the infantry. He then mounted guns in a house top and under cover of their fire, the infantry were enabled to make a successful continuation of their advance.;
