Description

Annual returns giving names, professions and residence of members of the Lodge held in the Twenty-third Regiment of Foot and general correspondence relating to the running of the lodge. Years 1791 - 1794, 1796 and 1802 are not extant.

Administrative / biographical background

The unnamed lodge was established in 1788 and held in the Twenty-third Regiment of Foot [Royal Welsh Fusileers]. In 1788 the regiment was based in Chatham, Kent and the lodge met at an unknown location in Chatham. The regiment soon left Chatham and the lodge moved with them, stopping in many barracks along the South Coast of England as well as spending time in Ireland. The lodge was erased in 1822.
