The Rural Sanitary Authority set up in 1872 under the control of the Guardians of Evesham Union included in its administrative area several Gloucestershire parishes. In 1895 these parishes were formed into Pebworth Rural District. By the Gloucestershire to Worcestershire Transfer Order of 1931 this Rural District was dissolved, several of the parishes being transferred to Worcestershire and the remainder coming under the control of Campden Rural District Council.
