This sub-collection is comprised of material which was originally filed or inserted into various books within Oppé's library collection. The material includes research notes, letters, images, newspaper cuttings, transcriptions and draft texts.

Administrative / biographical background

Alongside Oppé's archive, his library was also allocated to the Paul Mellon Centre under the Government's Acceptance-in-Lieu scheme. Like many art historians of his period, Oppé would often file or insert relevant research material within the pages of his books.
