Administrative / biographical background

St Nicolas, Birmingham, was designed by Martin and Chamberlain and consecrated in 1868. A parish was assigned to it out of St Stephen, Birmingham, in 1869. In 1942 the benefice was united with that of St Edward to form the united benefice of St Nicolas and St Edward, Birmingham. The church was closed in 1947 and subsequently demolished
