'Plan of Colombo on the Island of Ceylon in the East Indies with the English Encampment, Commanded by Colonel James Stuard after the Skirmish on 12 February 1796’. Chart shows coastline, topography, vegetation, land use, roads, settlements, buildings, fortifications, remarks. Colour manuscript. North point (orientation to the south southeast); evidence of (pencil) construction lines. Scale: 5 inches to 100 Rhei: Rods. Surveyed by Captain George Hayter, Royal Engineers. Annotated in black ink: ‘Colomb-Ceylon’ and in pencil: '248 feet to an inch nearly'
