Description (What the record is about)
-
Letter (with envelope), dated 18 February, 1985, from Florida. The envelope is annotated "'Night Spell' / Dorothy Madden's Dancer". A warm and heart-felt letter, prompted by a telephone call from Madden to Rainier, who then wrote to Davis, who was preparing for a performance of the Humphrey ballet (from Rainier's "String Quartet"). "To listen to your music is special; to listen & to dance to your musical images is an additional thrill!". Davis notes that the film of "Night Spell" [presumably, 1960] is in the Dance Library at the Lincoln Centre, New York ("the film does not leave the Library!!!").
