Chain was invited to visit and lecture of Behring-Werke; he suggested instead a discussion meeting for a small number of senior scientists, and a 'Forum Philippinum' on'Immunologie and Gesellschaft' was organised.
During his visit, Chain was also the guest of Chemiewerk Homburg, and accompanied a cello recital, which was recorded.
