Description

The same to "Sir" from Downing, 12th Dec., about the earthquakes he has experienced at Downing between 1750 and "Saturday last". Although the tremors had violence sufficient to terrify the inhabitants on the surface, Pennant "never could discover that the miners or colliers were ever sensible of the shocks under ground."
