Copy of will and probate of Elizabeth Sandford

Will dated 29 May 1815, codicil 4 June 1815.

Whereas Elizabeth's sister, Barbara Sandford, decd. by her will of 31 March 1815 left E. £50 and such of her wearing apparel as she should choose within 3 months and whereas Barbara's will is likely to be tried and disputed in a Court of Justice and the validity of which is at present questioned, but to prevent all matter of disputes hereafter in case the will should be established, Elizabeth declares by these writings that she claims & takes possession of all the wearing apparel belonging to her late sister and intends to have a part only for the use of her late servant Elizabeth Jones and until the validity of the will is decided she request her sister Susanna Sandford to keep for her, Elizabeth's, use all her late sister's wearing apparel and in case of E.'s death before the validity of the will is decided she declares that it is her wish that all the wearing apparel left by her sister shall go to her sister Susanna Sandford, her heirs & assigns.

Codicil she leaves to her sister Holland after her funeral expenses are paid what remains. 4 June 1815

Witnesses: Eleanor Barnes, Phebe Barnes, Ela Barnes.

Probate granted 7 Sept 1815 of the will & codicil of Elizabeth Sandford, spinster, late of Shrewsbury, & administration of her goods was granted to Frances Holland, widow, sister of the deceased & the executrix.
